NCSSM Durham Campus:
Transforming CommUNIty Spaces
NCSSM has identified more than $50 million in repairs and renovations needed on our historic Durham campus, where the oldest building was constructed in 1909, with renovations of all residence halls and construction of a new academic commons building extension topping the list. These long-needed projects have begun now because of appropriations by the North Carolina General Assembly and because of private contributions made through the NCSSM Foundation’s successful $86 million Ignite + Transform comprehensive fundraising campaign, including a lead gift of $7.5 million from an anonymous alum. We are working to secure additional funding from the state and private donors to complete all planned renovations.
Follow this site to learn about the improvements we can look forward to, the status of each of these projects, and modifications to campus activities during construction.
Private donations are instrumental in creating innovative academic opportunities, upgrading and building new learning environments in Durham and Morganton, and extending the reach of STEM education throughout the state through our online extended learning offerings. Give today to further our school's mission.
